Are you looking to hire a professional freelance designer but unsure if it’s within your budget?
Good news! Freelance designers are usually more affordable than agencies because we have lower overheads. No big offices or large teams to fund, just creative, efficient design.
If you have a larger project that would benefit from a team, I often collaborate with other talented freelance designers I trust and love working with, so please do ask for a quote.
All prices exclude VAT. I invoice through Transparent Design, a York-based micro agency I co-own with my developer Mike Rigley.
These prices are guides only. Every project and business is unique. I always offer a free 30-minute chat to get to know your brand and provide a tailored quote.

Website usability audits
Website advice power hour – £100
A one-hour video call where I review your website and share practical, actionable tips to improve layout, usability, and impact. Ideal for quick wins, this is not a full audit, but is great for immediate improvements.
Full 5 page usability audit – £500
Is your website underperforming for you and your clients, but you’re not ready to invest in a complete redesign and build?
I offer a cost-effective solution to improve your existing site without the need for a full redevelopment. Though the audits are also suitable if you are wanting a new website.
I’ll review your site’s content, design, and user experience, helping you make impactful changes that improve performance and pride in your online presence.
This approach focuses on:
- Simplified, more user-friendly content and layout
- Image and design recommendations
-
Tips on how to refine your copy web and SEO
- Competitor insights – what they do well (and not so well)
- A detailed written report with recommendations
The result? Your website will work better for your visitors, and you’ll feel proud to show it off.
How It Works:
-
- Initial Consultation(45–60 mins) to discuss your site, its goals and challenges
- Questionnaire: about your target audience and site objectives
- Audit & report: analysing five key pages
- Follow up call (1 hour) to review findings, answer questions, and plan next steps
All prices cover around 5 pages and I will also make some general suggestions to the overall website structure.
Additional pages or wireframes can be reviewed at £100 each.
Timings: 2-3 weeks.
Website design
The cost of designing a website depends what you need on it. Just like houses, a 1 bed bungalow costs less to build than a 6 bed detached house, and each room has different complexities, just like the pages on a website.
I design with the user in mind, ensuring your website is tailored to your business and nothing like your competitors’.
I include image resizing and optimisation, the websites are SEO friendly, secure and come with a CMS (content management system).
All sites include:
-
Custom design (not templates reused elsewhere)
-
Image resizing and optimisation
-
SEO-friendly structure
-
Secure setup
-
CMS (content management system)
